My Linfield Legacy

In my final weeks at Linfield College, I am thinking not only of our college's past, but also its future. Throughout the college's history, we have transformed the lives of students, and we've done so regardless of their wealth, background or beliefs. We've helped them discover their passion and then devise a path to pursue it.

For 160 years we have graduated compassionate, thoughtful citizens who make a difference in the lives of others. We must do all we can to ensure that Linfield will continue to educate such students for at least the next 160 years.

I have dedicated my professional life to independent higher education because I've seen so many lives transformed — and because our graduates are making the world better. I've done everything I can to bolster Linfield's future strength. And I'm proud to say that my wife and I have not only invested in the college's future by making gifts these past 12 years, but we've also included Linfield in our estate plan.

We hope that we have done some good during our time at the college, but by naming Linfield as a major beneficiary in our will, we know we will leave a tangible legacy after we are gone. It's an investment in the success of our students and in the future of our society. I hope that you will consider a similar investment in our college's future; it can be your legacy too.

If you are grateful for the people you've met, the experiences you've enjoyed and the educational opportunities you've received at Linfield, your legacy belongs here.

If you had a professor at Linfield who profoundly influenced your way of thinking or career ambitions, your legacy belongs here.

If you received a generous scholarship or grant that made it possible for you to earn your Linfield degree, your legacy belongs here.

For me, Linfield has been a blessing. I hope you'll consider joining me by making plans to leave your own legacy at Linfield. The future of our college and indeed our society depends on all of us — including you.

Like Dr. Hellie and his wife, you can make a planned gift that ensures your commitment to Linfield's future is secure. Contact Craig L. Haisch '95 at 503-883-2675 or chaisch@linfield.edu to discover which gift type is right for you.
